A Strategic Plan for the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation
In 2003, the Coastal Centre embarked on the development of a Strategic Plan for the organization to set a long term direction and establish priority activities and targets for the conservation of Lake Huron's coast.
A series of six stakeholder focus groups were held to solicit ideas from the community. Over forty organizations were represented including businesses, farm organizations, cottager associations, educators, agencies and municipal politicians. These facilitated forums helped to guide the formulation our Strategic Plan.
The outcome is a strategic direction for the organization based on our four environmental priorities of water quality, biodiversity, coastal processes and climate change.
To provide leadership and expertise, in collaboration with partners, to achieve a healthy Lake Huron coastal ecosystem.
